Any luck gluing rubba lures back together again
Bluefish cuts a sluggo almost in two in a couple of places.
Glue it or toss it? |
throw it back in as is, theyll eat anythin that moves past their face. ive got multiple blues just usin the remnants of a sluggo
|
I have tossed it, but see the brilliance of gunpowder's logic.
|
just buy a new sluggo.. and why would you be using a sluggo for blues??
|
I wouldn't use a sluggo either for bloos. Doubt the glue will heal the wound. Too much oily chit in the plastic.
|
take an old butter knife and heat it up with a lighter for about 20 seconds.. stick the hot knife in the cut for a few seconds and presto- cut is healed.

There was an article in SWS about this, all about customizing rubber lures, I think the guy in the article said make a clean cut with a razor blade and use some super glue. I don't remember if a specific brand was mentioned though.
|
Not targeting bluefish, but tell that to the bluefish.
The hot butter knife idea is interesting. I've found that the glue requires that the rubber be dry and it tends to stiffen the rubber in the areas of application. |
I used to melt plastics back together back in the day. Superglue also works, but the bonded parts will be hard and crunchy.
