Fishing Long Beach Island

Gonna be with the family all week in LBI over the 4th. Anybody have any input on the fishing down there this time of year?

Theres always something going on in Barnegat inlet either by boat or by surf, then again you can always rent a boat and bounce for fluke or crab in the back bay. I have always had pretty decent luck around the Rte 72 bridge. Hope this helps. Tight lines

From a boat, fish the east/west channel closest to the Barnegat lighthouse for fluke. From the beach, hit the jetty for bass.

I was at Island Beach last weekend. I didn't have any luck, but some other guys I talked to said they were getting fluke and some huge sea robins on clams, but not much else. I don't know about the bay side. The water is incredibly clean and clear now.
Check for NJ bait and tackle shops with websites, they usually have updated reports. Betty and Nicks and Fisherman's Headquarters used to for that area.
