Question ?
not looking to spot burn, how has the fishin in buzzards bay been. I'll be headed out there tomorrow with the new boat.
|
eh, from the surf its been awful. every now and then you might find some breaking fish right at sun up. but these fish are in the 16-24" range. theres tons of small snapper blues around. the water is just too warm, you know how july and august get. if i were you id go north, say cape cod bay, or try the sounds.

I heard Buzzards Bay has eutrophication issues, particularly in the smaller embayments during dead summer.
|
What the hay is eutrofication?
Anyway , I have frieds who have been fishing Buzzards bay and vineyard sound (they go back and forth through the "holes" in the elizabeth Island chain) from aboats. they are doing well ro at least they were 10 or so days ago when the com season opened. |
eutrophication is the process of oxygen depletion
|
comes from things like agricultural run-off, gutter wash and sewage. The heat and nutrients from those sources aggravate an algal bloom, and blooms are no good for well oxygenated water.
