spotting bonito & albies VS. Bluefish
Fishing point judith / harbor of refuge from boat quite often in August... When the albies & Bonito show up, How can you tell if its blues or albies in the area? Im asking because i recently was following birds at a distance that were sporatically diving and working a pretty wide area... I was casting a needle eel to the area, but zero hook ups... now if there were blues, I think I would have picked one up... How can one determine if birds are following blues or albies? I was also letting other charging boats drive them in my direction as i drifted with motor off, but still nothing...

albies and bones "slash" more than a bluefish will. Much faster also.

Little Round has been killing the bones!!!

Sometimes you are looking for a single bird. Albies are pretty easy, they aren't shy. Bones don't show on top all that often. We went 6 for 7 on tuesday, and doubled up.:bl:

Busting fish over birds, I always start with tins.
