Last two days on the Makomania

Took a party of four novices fluke fishing around Pt. Judith on Thursday they had lots of throwbacks and would up with a dozen keepers. Took a group from Long Isalnd down to cox's ledge yesterday where they caught somewhere between 75 and 100 codfish. Full bags of filets and big smiles all around even though it was less than ideal conditions.

Went out for two hours this afternoon to get my 2&1/2 year old grandson his first fish. Came back with 3 keepers and a load of memories and pictures!

Cod in August...that is great. Any size to them ?
Jigging? bait? many dogs?

Sandy,
almost no0 doggies at all. Caught one all day, the last fish caught on the last drift! Biggest cod was about 20 pounds most fish kept were in the 22-30 inch range. One guy tried jigging for a while but gave up when his buddies started bailing them on clams.
