Wonder if a safe boating course and the proper way to approach and enter waves and swells would have helped?

COAST GUARD SEARCHES FOR PERSON IN WATER,
SEEKS PUBLIC ASSISTANCE

BOSTON - The Coast Guard is searching for a person who may have fallen overboard from a boat at about 1 p.m., 15 miles east/southeast of the mouth of the Merrimack River in Massachusetts.

The Coast Guard received a report of a white 22-foot recreational boat with a green canopy, manufactured by Mako, traveling westbound at a high rate of speed. The reporting source contacted the Coast Guard because there was no visible operator.

Searching are: A 47-foot motor lifeboat from Station Merrimack River, a 25-foot response boat from Station Portsmouth Harbor, N.H., and a Falcon jet from Air Station Cape Cod, Mass.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Coast Guard Command Center at 617-223-8555.

Another board, which most of us know, because of our love for Reels, posted that the situation has resolved itself. It was posted that they found the boat in question and the captain had the boat onautopilot and was doing something on the deck. So if it is true, all is well and we can all stand down....

As far as the Parker boat accident, the owner is a firefighter from New Hampshire. I didn't know him but we all belong to www.classicparker.com. He had just purchased the boat and the man who passed away was his buddy. So as fall comes and the waters cool, try to remember to use some common sense and be safe.

Wow, that hits close to home. I am from Windham, NH and my boat is a 22 foot WA.

I hope everyone comes through this ok. Sounds like a freak accident. I wish them all the best. Great job on doing the best he could.
