MV Derby

Does anyone know if they will have online registration, or have they done away with that? Looks that way to me, since it starts Sunday.

And what is the significance of this:

Are those numbers our numbers, like the numbers on the runners in a race? Why stagger them like that?

Derby first timer here, I will have more questions the next 2 weeks....:read:

I just noticed they activated the forums on the derby site, and someone asked the same question regarding registration.

I am pretty sure you have to go one of the tackle shops to register. You have to pick a pin and hat, pick up the rules and brochure when you register.

The numbers are just the "pin" numbers (when you register you get a derby pin that has unique number on it, the number is used when you weigh in your fish)...some people want a certain number and ask the shop to hold that number year after year. Me?...I could care less what the number on the pin is.

You can call into the shop's and have then put your information through and then pick up your stuff. I've done it before.

On-line registration leds to increase derby mailing costs. Thats why it was stopped a few years ago. It was convenient, because you could drive off the boat and hit the BEACH if you were so inclined.
