Hook up Ratio
I'm starting to find more and more that certain plugs and lures hook more hits than others. For example, bombers seem to have a better hook-up ratio than red-fins, at least in my experience. All of my hooks are always very sharp, so that isnt really a factor. I'm just curious if anyone else has noticed this....

It may hav something to do with how the fish approach the lure.
In my case, with Slug-gos and Storms, the fish will "pick" the Slug-go of the bottom like an eel, whereas the Storm will get slammed like a bunker/herring (back when we could use them). |
its called put in your time. thats newbie stuff for the dinks. throw big stuff and hang on. pencils 7 in swimmers.

Pat: Although they draw many strikes, I've experienced a lower hook-up ratio with spooks than other plugs in my bag.
Good topic. |
I agree with you Kierran...and I think about it every time I put one on. If a fish thinks the spook is going to zig and it zags....no fish for you...!!!
