i wish that was my beetle. My engine is a stock 1600 at this point, with some minor aftermarket upgrades, but I think this winter or next I am going to build a 1835 or a 2150 CC with dual webber Carbs.. these cars are so cheap to get parts for its silly.

my brother and i had this metalic blue racing bug that was ported out real nice and the thing really flew,,,,well one day i was totally feeling my need for speed and decided to find out just how fast this car could really go....

so heading downhill on the long straight away on route 128 heading North
i threw cares to the wind and with reckless abandon floored it and kept it there....punched... pedal to the metal BABY

well the speedometer in those days only went to 90 MPH but i past the bottom where the turn signals flashed and went all the way back up to
20 mph again before the engine blew up....:rotf2: and figured i was goin around 130 or in that neighborhood... heh heh heh
