Favorite schoolie bass lures
Sometimes its fun to take a detour from the big boys and switch over to light tackle for schoolie bass.... what are some of your favorite and most productive lures for the schoolies? Mine have to be the 6" Ronz, 4" shad, along with small topwater plugs:humpty:

Early in the year, I like leadheads with small squid bodies or grubtails. This time of year, small poppers with barbs pinched down, or replace the tail treble with a single hook.

#1 habs lil' srapper popper.
#2 Pearl Cocahoe #3 Redgil in front just about anything. |
chrome creek chubs caught a ton on them this year. Had to through wire them and replaced the hooks on the little ones.
yellow with red pencil and yellow polaris have also been good in the daytime. nights.. if I am not throwing eels I use bombers. |

I don't deliberately go after schoolies this late in the year but when I do, my favorite lure is the 4-1/2" and 5" HellCat with a small teaser.
