I would build one tomorrow if I could get a fire marshall to confirm his math calculations on explosive air mixtures. It would be great for waterbase stuff but I'm not sure on the laquer.

I am a little skeptical too but i am no expert on that type of stuff.. I may incorporate his hose thing to dry the paint before it clogs up my fan I have now . It would eliminate the need for a filter in front of the fan I think. Might be worth a try. P.

His little idea of drying lacquer paint inside the hose is going to cause a fire also. As the film thickness builds up it can and will spontaneously combust... BOOM.

most hvac blower motors are seald units so if im not rong thay are explosion proof.

you can probley make a epoxy dry system with that as well just turn off the fan and put a spinner in it.

(4) Fan-rotating element. The fan-rotating element shall be nonferrous or nonsparking or the casing shall consist of or be lined with such material. (7) Exhaust ducts. Exhaust ducts shall be constructed of steel and shall be substantially supported. Exhaust ducts without dampers are preferred; however, if dampers are installed, they shall be maintained so that they will be in a full open position at all times the ventilating system is in operation.

I am paranoid and don't mess around - but I wonder if it's just from reading all the stuff I read here.

I have never read any post of my shop ignited. Maybe people are afraid to admit it or maybe it just don't happen often :chatter

your insurance co. will tell you if your covered or not.....better ask them....before it goes boom.

That guy is Ed Walicki http://www.fishcarver.com/ He's a world champion fish carver and does this day in day out. If his studio is not burnt down by now with him painting 24" fish carvings, i don't think 6" lures will produce enough fumes to explode.
