Tuna fishing this weekend
Anyone going out? I know I am. Season is winding down and I want one or two more cracks at some fish.
KR - are you fishing footballs or big ones? I'm thinking of going down to the channel if I get a weather window.
Big Jay. I'll be looking for LARGE. Probably looking in that general area if weather improves otherwise I'll be in the Bay on some #'s that have been decent for a buddy who is a commercial.:kewl: I dont want to be down the GSC with screamin' wind. Been there, done that if you know what I mean.
I hope to get out one more time to look for some footballs.
I run a small boat so I have to keep an eye on the wx. |

I will be out east of Chatham saturday for one last shot. Anyone out last weekend or this week? How has it been out there?
Unfortunately, I know exactly what you mean -- 55 mls SE of monomoy when the wind comes up sucks big time.
Weather isn't looking too good, but the whiting boats have been working for a while now, so staying local may be a good call. |
Went yesterday in the wind and snot looking mr. BIG and all we found was water wind and misery. If we wanted small ones we could have sunk the boat with them. Oh well one more big one to make the season complete. Going next weekend weather depending. Waves had to be solid 5 and 6 footers with the occasional "surprise" wave thrown in to keep you honest.
I didn't end up going. Pogie fished instead. Taking a look tomorrow for footballs.
Matt, If you're going for smalls this weekend and need a mate, hit me up! |
I didn't go either last weekend. they were calling for 4-7, which is too much for our 22 footer. At this point, I'm looking towards next year.
You can forget about going east this coming saturday !!!

Too much winda nd waves for this kid. I'm staying home.
after the stories you told me, come on.
