reel suggestions
hey anyone have suggestions on a new reel for me my current reel broke today. i had a okuma axeon 90,and the bail literally just snapped off. i thought it wouldve been decent but it only lasted me the summer up till now,iam using an 11ft lami surfking

I would say a spheros 8000 if you're not looking to spend alot. Never a bad idea to see if you can score a Penn 704/6 either.
|
iam looking for something that will hold up,price isnt really a problem as long as it is worth it

i was thinking about a vs200, how do you think it would match up to my rod?and are there any major differences between the vs and the zb
|
I dont own either....due to cost...but I would if I could afford to...
plenty of stuff on VS and ZB here....try the search feature:kewl: |
With an 11 foot rod you should really use a vs250 or even a vs300
but I like the 250 just the right line retrieve for the way I fish |
is there a zee baas equivalant of the vs 250?
|
not yet
|
I would wait to see if a larger z baas comes out. I'm a happy vs owner but when you compare them to a z baas the z baas definitely looks alot nicer. Depth of spool, double pick up etc.
|
Funny that happened.
The reel shaft snapped on my Okuma Avenger the other night. I bought a Penn 650ssm. So much nicer. |
If your looking for a longcast spool I would go with a Daiwa powersurf QD, there 180 bucks shipped to your door, 33lbs max drag, fit and finish is great, and they will cast looong.

vs200/vs250.
I would give the zeebaas a few years. At least to get its feet wet. Not that I doubt the quality. But I would want to see how the company pans out... |
