Nice job.

Only recommendation I have is to move the belly hooks forward.

jimmy z 11-16-2007 06:18 AM

Very nice.
I'm going to get busy on a bunch myself this winter. I didn't do too much last year, just too busy.
But a good job, my friend:kewl:.

Hook placement is kinda weird on the swimmer.
Most single hook plugs have the hook more towards the head.

What Nib said ... awesome olive swimmer .. Hook set way back like a spook ... Hook would be better probably just behind eye .. Or move that one back a little and add another just behind eye for 2 belly hooks ... Things to look out for on swimmer belly hooks,, You don't want the belly hook so far forward it keeps hooking tie line ... But just back enough so it can't .. If your doing double belly hooks You don't want hooks locking up with each other on the cast .. Or rear hook locking up with a tail hook ..

1.5 inches from the front is a good starting point for ur hook hole..
3 1/8 from there 3/0 hooks won't tangle as long as ur swivels don't hang to low.
U might have to do some off set drilling for the front swivel for this on some designs..Details..U might have some basics.. Making good plugs is all in the details..
