Windows Alternatives

I am sick and tired of windows.

What are my alternatives and which would you recomend? I read in the other thread recomending ubuntu. I researched ubuntu and it doesn't support mp3. Is this the same for all non MS OS?

Please help educate me on this topic. I am very computer savy but it is 100% MS based.

it does support mp3 you just need a 3rd party player / codec.

Rhythmbox in 7.10 supports mp3s.
