its made from glass- you need to get that glass up to 2400 to get it into that product. Thats a lot of energy.

wow , that seems high to me.

For 13 years my business was in the where the Ownes Corning fiberglass melt facility use to be. There was a huge (size of a swimming pool) frozen pool of glass upstairs inside a furnace. . When they left they just picked up and moved out , left behind almost all the stuff except the paltinum screens used to form the molten glass into the fibers.

What grade?R13,R19 etc..Faced or unfaced?Rolls or batts? All these things matter when considering price.

Standard craft faced 15"R19 in a 88.5 sq' roll for $31.73 is a fair price. No contractor is installing it for less than that per sq.ft.If he is beware, you're getting burned somehow.

R13 kraft paper faced .. Might be a fair price .. just last time I bought it I think it was $11.00 a roll . Insulation has always been inexspensive .. Trying to think who was president last time I bought it .. Carter ?

Just about everything costs more these days.....There is some type of tax credit going on now for energy savings. I was looking at insulation and came across it. It may be looking into if you are going to buy insulation. I think you have to do it before the end of the year.

I watched Anderson do that ICYNENE stuff in a new house a few years back, it looked real good but I think they can only do it on new construction
