Fishing license and a little help.

I was thinking about going to the thames river over the winter on the weekends do you need a license and how much is it.Also does it matter what time of the day or tides in the river.I no of 3 different spots to fish so i dont really need spots unless you want to share them.I will be on the shore.

I believe an out of state license is 30 or 35$. You can get one at city halls in Ct. I've had better results when a warm front passes through.

I also believe that there is a point where it is considered "salt water" where salt water regulations would be in affect, similar to sections of the North , Merrimack and Mystic rivers.
If you are fishing from shore, then I would get a license, just b be sure.
Good luck.

That's correct although I don't know where the dividing line is. If he's going to downtown Norwich, I'm gonna guess that's considered fresh water.

I believe anywhere north of the 95 bridge you need a license, an out of state season license is either 40 or 50 bucks. Good luck.

500 ft north of 95 bridge and rt 1 .

in the winter the harbor is loaded with schoolies so thick you can walk across on them- not so tide dependant as the spring when the real fish move in. make sure to get the license the ct. DEP is all over the harbor checking.

Generally a freshwater licence is needed if you are upstream of the first fixed bridge. If its a draw bridge , it doesn't count.
