Cell phone shell game
 

Well my cell phone needed replacing and I was entitled to a new phone. It was total junk made in China . So , then when I wanted the better made in China phone I was told that each time you get a new phone you extend your contract for an additional two years. What a giant rip off game the Cell Phone Cos. have. FishHawk

Go to the competition and get a price, call your existing carrier. We got put in touch with a "Phone Specialist" who waived the new phone fee for us and gave us the phones for half price, but we have been with the same carrier at least 8 years.. There is a lot of competition and now that you can take your number, carriers don't want to risk losing a paying customer..

Just threaten to go somewhere else....they'll wave it to keep you.

not a cellphone, but i called to cancel my sirius radio... said i thought my radio sucked... it was the end of my 2 year contract..

They are sending me
1. A new radio (not a uber expensive one, but still a new one)
2. A FM kit (to connect directly to the stereo
3. 2 Extra free months
4. An $80 gift cert to get it installed (at Best Buy)
5. A hat..

I wasnt keen till they added the hat...

Dont threaten to cancel.. Actually go into the call ready to do it.... Be prepared to move to another carrier if you have to, but chances are you wont. These people will do almost anything to keep you.
