Twas The Week Before Christmas......
 

Twas the week before Christmas and all through the streets,
People were flipping off all that they meet!

They were driving their cars without any concern,
for the other poor saps who just wanted to turn!

The shoppers were running from store to store in the malls,
Some of what I saw just really took balls!

Cutting in line, and grabbing their goods,
With death in their eyes they all acted like hoods!

When out in the mall there arose such a commotion,
To just run for cover was my only notion!

Pushing and shoving and calling folks names,
I knew in an instant these folks were insane!

No courtesy shown to the others around,
No please, thanks, excuse me was there to be found!

Just "Move it!", "Hey stupid!", "Can you move a bit faster?!",
Was all you could hear as the people rushed past ya!

No "Hey, Merry Christmas....have a great Holiday Season!"
It seems folks forget the whole Christmas reason?

They don't take the time to enjoy what the reason is,
They all overlook what the real Christmas season is!

Its not about money and gift cards and such,
Or how nice their presents are or how much!

They really don't get it, they don't understand,
The true meaning of the season at hand!

So Larr' with his coffee, bacon/egg and cheese croissant
Went to the convenience store to see who he could haunt...

LOL......Nice poem BF. I here ya.....I haven't left my cave in a month other than for work or to get food. It's crazy out there. I feel like hugging someone when they hold a door for me it's so rare.

Twas in line at Dunkies and wanted some Joe,
I noticed that all of their counter help blow!

They screwed up my coffee and gave me the wrong change,
I was suddenly angry and acting deranged!

The person who helped me could not understand,
They did not speak the language and were not from this land!

I had to repeat my order again,
I ordered one coffee and one donut not ten!

I sent back the coffee and just bit my tongue,
I hoped that my coffe was right when it comes!

Again it was screwed up how hard can it be,
To get one cup of coffee with no sugar just cream?

Fortunately I left my gun at home,
I won't come here again this place moans!

Twas a week before Christmas
When bigfish went out

To spread joy while shopping
When out and about

First to his coffee shop
Where his mirth is always welcome

Then to the stores
Where he'll spend his millions

Drinking his coffee when he goes through the front door
The security guy makes him through his drink out the door.

Still with a smile that cannot be deterred
Larry does his shopping without his favorite liqueur (coffee)

He does not get grumpy
Because to him this is the best day of the year.

He knows there is more coffee
When he leaves the huge store

And more smiles to spread around
When he gets out the store's door

Because this is the day when he shows his true self
And lets everyone see what his insides are about

So to all I say Larry is no grump
He is just a guy who doesn't smile all that $*(**%*% much!

To know me...is to love me!;)

Hate to chime in but all this poetry is making me want to make one up quick.A little off topic but not too far.



Winter Sucks!

The fall run is now gone, a thing of the past
Stuck in the house by the kids I'm harassed

X-mas is coming and people all get frantic
I'm still sitting here dreaming of the Atlantic

The new year turns and the weather stays cold
Dreaming of rocks,tides and fish still aint old

Thinking about lures,rods,reels and the SWE fishing show
Meanwhile I'm in the driveway.... shoveling snow

Prepped all my gear got it set to the ready
March the frost and wind will be blowing quite steady

Finally a break, arguing on the boards is getting insane
We're looking outside and it's not snow it's just rain

Reading , passing time ,no fish for months the pot stirs
Good thing for Zeno and "Surfcasting with Lures"

Like a trumpet blowing off a Jetty on a calm day
Finally we hear of a schoolie early in may

Next we hear about Seals and the plover!
But for now I wish this long winter was over!

These words walked me through the winter and snow
Only for me to realize there's still months more to go.

So head on back to s-b boards for sure...
What is the best way to fish with bait or a lure? (new topic)
