NFL network

What venues in your area have it? There's a sports pub in Hyannis that carries it, anyone know the name?

NBC, CBS TO SIMULCAST PATRIOTS-GIANTS

NBC and CBS will both broadcast Saturday's Patriots-Giants game, the NFL announced today.

"We have taken this extraordinary step because it is in the best interest of our fans," NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said in the league's statement. "What we have seen for the past year is a very strong consumer demand for NFL Network. We appreciate CBS and NBC delivering the NFL Network telecast on Saturday night to the broad audience that deserves to see this potentially historic game. Our commitment to the NFL Network is stronger than ever."

CBS and NBC will both carry the NFL Network feed of the broadcast, with Bryant Gumbel handling play-by-play and Cris Collinsworth handling commentary. Local stations in Boston (Channel 5), Manchester, New Hampshire (Channel 9) and New York (Channel 9) will also show the game.

This will be the first simulcast of an NFL game since Super Bowl I, which both CBS and NBC televised.

The first SB was simulcast as far as the picture feed, but each network had their own announcers---Ray Scott on CBS, and Curt Gowdy and Al Derogatis on NBC.

I understand that Channel 5 bid on the game and had to pay for the rights to air it--how does that work now that CBS and NBC will be airing it--do they get their money back?

We have it, and its on directv, didn't have to buy the sports ticket either :spin: But NBC's president sent a letter asking the NFL channel if they could air the game, and now its being simulcasted on 10, 12, and the NFL channel. win win situation there :claps:

B4 the intervention

Ch5 ABC Boston has had the rights and does broadcast all the local Pats games that are not on a national network. They were airing the game all along like others this year.

In Hyannis you coaul buy NFL Network either as a siingle channel or as part of the sports pkg with Speed Ch etc.

After the Intervention....

Above plus NBC and CBS are airing the NFL Network broadcast as national programming....thus in Boston/hyannis it will be on 4, 5, & 7

NFL network is going to hae a 6 hour pre game plus 66 hours of pre game all patriots programming....wooo hoooo

The NFL wants the cable and sattelite companies to give it to you for free. Comcast, Cablevision etc charge for it. Verizon gives it to you free. I wish my town would stop dragging their feet and get a damn video contract signed with Verizon. I want my Fios TV.....
