10#s of poop in a 5# bag

This probably doesn't interest anyone. But anyone who has ever done concrete form work may find it intriguing. We (2 of us) spent 2 weeks inside pre-building it (was nice being inside during the snow). The outer circle (face of plywood)is 13'-8" in diameter. The brick shelf has a waterstop and the inside piece is a cone. This was the tough part as it has to be totally suspended with no support from the bottom. The inside cone presents a problem as the concrete will want to float the formwork.
Today we install the 8 stainless steel anchor bolts and pour it tomorrow. Weather permitting.......... |

ok Mac... i give up
what is it?
my very first job was concrete forms as a matter of fact. looks mighty sturdy thats for sure.... this year i'll be getting back to stone masonry |
Looks pretty impressive! What will it be when it is done?
Concrete was created a long time ago, yet it is still used today and if done right can last for an extremely long time. :) I only worked with it making steping stones from a mold one summer several yrs back. First ones looked terrible with rocks showing and in the end they came out great and we could do them 2 - 3 times faster as well. Sort of zen working with a trowel and floating it ever so lightly to smoothen it out. |
Is this going to be some kind of rudementory lure building machine?:wid:Could not resist Mac but i'll say just from looking at the detail of the work that you and your bud did a hell of a nice job :btu:

Looks like MAC has a water treatment facility in his backyard!?:rotf2:
Cool pics MAC...what is it? |
Looks like a MOAFP....mother of all fire pits
|
Comeon you guys that's the new dynamouse drive for my latest machine. Mouse runs in endless circles and creates a disturbance in the magnetic field of the earth which enables the machine to defy gravity and go faster. I can't believe you guys didn't figure this out yet.
CMC....circular mouse control :hee: |
so what's the statue?

looks like a fountain to me.

Tell me that isn't union carpentry work.........????? I'll say wow now before I find out what it is for.

I did Rebar for 11 yrs, and that looks like a lot of work to me!

I figured it was a podium for some of our heavier members here (was just reading the new years resolution thread):hihi:

Water tower base?
|
a fountain huh, gee i thought it was some sort of time machine. Just think of the plugs you wouldn't have lost and the blitzs you'd know about. It could also be some sort of an ashtray.
Mac you gonna put some sort of time capsule in it? |
maybe some sort of hot tub?
|
it's the mother of all eel tanks
|
maybe a monument for e.d.
|
Yes, it's a union job. And Larry is right on with his guess. It is the center piece for a gravity tank of a water filtration plant. Anchor bolts were set today and tomorrow is the big day. Should be fine. I don't have any doubts. I'll take a picture when the form work is stripped off on Wednesday.

Cut a few in my days as a cement cutter! So I was kinda sure thats what it was!:kewl:
