Plug Sealing ?
It was brought up earlier about heating plugs & sealing with thinned out envirotex,,I've heated epoxy when it harden, but what about the plug..Is that for soaking in? , Jim:thanks:

cant understand what you are asking??:buds:
|
Iwas refering to a quote by ProffessorM on a post by WadingWill about( Sealing Question )..He mentions heating the plug & using a thinned envirotex to seal it? Jim:huh:

I have done the heating the plug thing before.
I think it seals the hard to seal woods like maple or birch better because it draws the epoxy in better, but you have to be careful because it also adds weight. I did in with system three clearcoat epoxy, that stuff is thin enough already, no need to thin down envirotex. |
Do you just heat the envirotex or the wood also?
|
I do not heat the epoxy
I just heat the plug in a toaster oven you can warm up the epoxy by placing the bottles in warm water ahead of time if you want. |
