um
you lookin for fish or are ya heading south to surf...? some of the lakes there are real good too for S-B's nice campgrounds and warm compared to here !! and basically empty too because what we'd consider nice temperatures they think of as too cold to go camping  |
The Savannah River used to have a very good healthy spawning population, but that was before the paper mills. Most stripers in that region, south of Myrtle Beach are freshwater/estuary populations. Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie both have significant striper stocks. Sorry, I dont know if this helps you with regard to the surf. You will, without a doubt, find bluefish all over there.

...down in those parts, Red Drum is the King of the Surf.

Thanks guys, thought i could run by that area on a trip down south next month. Would only have a day or 2 but i'll look into the Lakes.
Thanks again. :) |
Cooper River Chas Sc These bass never leave the River System They just move up and Down the River

I tried the lakes(Marion and Moultrie) two yrs ago just after X-mas.There's not a lot of public access, and it's primarily a boat "thing",this time of year,I was unable to even find a boat to rent. However, seeing as you have a month, you might find something online between now and then.
I've never seen it,but the Savannah River might be a better choice. |
