Help Needed with Fax and DSL
 

Greetings,
I hope I can explain my problem well enough. I have a Dell 2400 desktop, connected to DSL and I want to use the Fax softwear that came with the computer. Prior to having DSL I used an internal modem and all worked find. Now with the DSL the fax softwear can't find a dialtone to dial out.
What do I need to do to make it work??
Is there softwear that can downloaded or a fix I can make?

The ethernet cable running from the DSL modem to your PC is not configured for dial up.

You should be able to connect the old modem up to a phone jack anywhere in the house and the modem should detect the dial tone.

There might be a phone port on the DSL modem that should be near your PC.

you can still use your modem... you just need to put a filter on the line. DSL uses unused frequency on the phone line, that's why you need to put filters on all your other phones.
