and that little pain in my arse or glass pane

is 42 bucks ,,, that i JUST replaced last year...

and it's only 8.5 by 11 inches of tempered glass
====================================
i say NO friggan way and i'll replace it with steel

this time.... :fury: you F'N bastage

i have a piece of tempored glass but i don't

know how to cut it unless, i were to use a diamond blade
tile saw... NEBE? anyone ever cut tempored glass before?

meanwhile: i have to let the fire go out....
before i can start the repairs......

and now,
i have to go hunt down some steel on the homestead

:hs: :hs: :hs: of all the days (20 degrees)
razzin fraggin, stinkin
monkey, rat headed ,nob knee'd ,
pile of crap eatin ,DORK feathered,

Rav, see if you can find some cast iron for the repair.

Raven 01-28-2008 02:18 PM

all fixed

hell i would have thrown a metal cutting blade
into my old worm drive skil saw and just cut
(fabricated) a piece but for $15.00 bucks

i was
able to go and grab a 1/4 inch thick steel
replacement piece and i just lit the stove.

now i'm having a beer ...i WIN :cheers2:

It Ain't pretty i know....but it'll work for now and we had already decided to replace this woodstove anyways
next i'll buy some high temp stove black paint

BigBo 01-28-2008 02:33 PM

Who cares about seeing the fire anyways. The steel plate will probably transfer more heat to the house than the glass ever did.

Raven 01-28-2008 02:58 PM

yep BigBo very true

once we purchase the outdoor heating unit
that'll heat all the buildings
that stove will be yanked and utilized elsewhere...

Are you getting one of those outdoor wood burning furnaces?
Love to hear about how it works, let us know.

Raven 01-28-2008 07:16 PM

i hope to yes

but they are being modified to have less emissions

with new EPA standards so we are waiting for those changes first.
