Leaving for Key West tonight

Wedsday night that is!!
I am going on the Yankee Boat with Capt Greg. We will be doing the 3 Day Mutton Snapper Marathon. at the Dry Tortuga's.

Anyone have any info on this type of fishing?? My first time to the Keys!

I will have at least another day to mess around there as well, any food, clubs, or must sees while I am there?

Thanks guys!

When in Key West if you drop anything kick it to Miami before you bend over and pick it up...:bshake:

Garden of Eden, over the bull restaurant on Duvall St.
Mallory Sq. sunset celebration
Sun Block

Have a great time. I was down there the first 3 weeks of Jan. Coldest on record. You're in for a treat.

Bring a sweatshirt on the boat. You may need it if a front comes through.

Enjoy!!:gu:

Sloppy Joes -happy hour and blocking all traffic on Duval street. Great fishing and super refreshments!!:cens:

:cheers2::cool: Sloppy Joe's is great, great atmosphere, great music, great drinks and some big-ass marlin on the walls. Hog's Breath ain't bad either:buds:. In the shops, don't buy anything for the first price you hear. Beat 'em down. Mallory Square at sunset, "we're not in Kansas anymore, Toto" :lama: :grins: Oh, yeah, the fishin's pretty not to bad when you get to it.

Your going to need good wet gear and a wind-proof jacket also. And lots of sunscreen.

Mutton snapper will be some good eatin! Key weird can be a lot of fun. Get key wasted! Get some stone crab if you can find it.

if you get a chance, barracuda on light tackle on the flats, best fishing experience IMHO there is

I was on the 2 day trip over the weekend. Fishing was a slow pick--I ended with 5 muttons, a 20lb king, and a pile of yellowtails/mangroves. Be sure to bring a couple of stinger king rigs since there were some nice ones around cutting yellowtails in half as they were brought to the surface.

Have fun!

-Willy.

Thanks Willy!

I can't wait!! How was the weather for you?? I hear the lows at night are 60's days high 70's??

Willy G. 01-30-2008 10:18 AM

Yep that sounds about right...long sleeve t-shirt at night, short-sleeves during the day. Weather was beautiful, except a little puffy at the beginning and end of the trip.

EarnedStripes44 01-30-2008 11:00 AM

yea, enjoy that grilled mutton snapper....

keeperreaper 01-30-2008 01:57 PM

Macojoe,

To bring the fish back just put in a cooler with frozen little chickens as ice. They stay frozen for a long time, keep the fish cold and is legal.
thats how a lot of boys bring their tuna home from LA.

macojoe 01-30-2008 02:39 PM

Thats perfect Keeper!! Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have fun & watch out for the sun
