need some creative ideas for wife's 40th bday event
the end of MArch, my wife turns the big 40. I've never done anything special for her bdays, party wise and I'd like to throw her a surprise party. It would have to be a late afternoon, kid friendly gathering. Less than 40 people. I'd like it to be something differnet, even a little strange if possible. Cost is a factor and I'm not sure what my budget is. I'd like to have cake and maybe some apps, etc.
My wife loves sushi Loves country western music Loves BBQ but not limited to teh above.... Any ideas on some creative locations? I'd be looking to have it somewhere between Providence RI and Boston, MA |
Go to WeightWatchers on Tuesday night

A little further south, but I bet she would love a Clambake at yawgoo bakes.
[edit] just re-read and march is probably too early for a clambake. |

With 30+ people?
Sounds like a helluva night.. |
Do a search on the web for theme parties. I just went to a "cruise ship" party this past weekend and it was really cool and family friendly. The people decorated the house to resemble a cruise ship and emailed "boarding passes" as invitations for people to bring for boarding. They served food from different islands that we "visited" during the night. They also set up a fake casino in the basement and had activities for the kids. There was a karaoke machine in the ships "lounge" and the owner of the house made announcements about what was being served, etc... throughout the night. People dressed in cruise wear, too which made it seem like we were really inside a cruise ship. It looked like a lot of work, but it was much cooler than I expected. I'm sure there are other ideas like that that could be done for pretty short money and a little work on your part.

you didnt say
what your budget was....
but... i'd look around for a place to rent where everyone could do some line dancing.... country style easy to learn too... so you buy her some new cowgirl boots and hire a DJ instead of gifts have everyone bring a dish and chip in for the hall rental if everyone has a blast so will your wife have a birthday party/ hootenanny man :btu: |
let clammer take her out for a night.
She will love you so much more after that :hihi: |
