Ballon or Bobba
My question is why do people use ballons to float the bait instead of a bobber?
Striper newbie Thanks in advance |
i guess it would be used for live bait instead of dead bait? im not sure . id like to know the answer as well.

Jetta - welcome to S-B.
Balloon? Much cheaper.... |
Well Jetta im not sure that I have the reason but I use balloons because : 1. They are easier to see in the ocean size of them makes them easier to see 2.You can adjust the size of them for the size of chunk bait /live bait that you are useing so it wont go under because of the weight of it 3. They take up less space in your tackle box 4. And last but not least cost you get a whole lot of balloons for the price of one bobba.......lol:jump1: :hf1: :hf1: :hf1: :hf1: :jump1:

do you use these from shore also? how is it rigged? oops. welcome aboard jetta.:smash:
|
..not to mention....its real easy to see when a balloon is taking on water......fzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz !!!!!...or letting out air ;)
..with a bobba, you only know its leaking when you can't see it anymore...:laughs: ...then again FISH ON! ...oh yeah.... Welcome aboard Jetta!! |
Well I usualy wait for the out going tide so that it wont drift in on me. And i try not to use them if the wind is in my face. With the outgoing tide it will drift further than you can cast.....sometimes that works to your advantage. As for how to rig them I blow the balloon up and tie it directly to the line where I want the depth to be.
Ohh Yea by the way.......Welcome aboard Jetta:cheers: |
one thing I've learned the hard way....tie the balloon to the line not the line to the balloon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or else you get FISH ON!!!...SNAP....OOPS!!
