Blizzard of 78
Time flies ! |
I know I can't believe it! I remember it as if it were yesterday! That was some storm.....I will never forget it as long as I live!
|
What a great storm that was. Remember sliding down huge snow banks right in front of my house and playing street hockey for a few days after, no need to build up the boards.
|
Can recall screaming down Shears St on a ArticCat. Heading to the Shamrock(Tom's) for some beer. There was 46" of snow on the State school field.
|
my garbage truck got stuck in the snow drift next to a local watering hole . truck stayed there till the next day when I was ready to go home . wish we had snow like that now

I lived in the Sawmill across the street, behind Loughlin's. I lived there when Billy Conrads dad grazed sheep where the highschool is. And your house and the busroad between you and Doc Grady's were pasture too. Cindy Wiklund and I were the first class to go through KP from Seventh to Twelvefth(?). 1965 |
oh what a storm... and the wife says "you won't leave me, and besides look at that snow" so i grabbed up all i had that meant something, my guitar,my dog, and my favorite rocking chair with no legs and blaazed a trail through the snow down to Squash Inn in moosup, ct. (local waterin hole/ biker bar)
don't think i left for the next five years. guess i showed her! |
Thank goodness I had my bong as our road wasn't plowed for days.
