jointed plug with lead connector?
1 Attachment(s)
i have thought of a way to do away with screw eye connections,or
bending over the stainless loop ,then opening up the loop, after passing it thru the front end of a jointed plug(namely a slammer). recently i started pouring my own spinnerbaits and got the idea from the spinnerbait where the joint of the hook & the stainless wire are joined by a simple little hook put in the wire & then hooked onto the hooks eye.then poured with lead. so i was wondering if 2 short wires can be joined with a little hook bent in each end ,at a belly hole then poured with lead,to seal & lock in the connection.so what i,m asking is do you think this connection will hold up?and has it been done before? |
Seems as though it would work, but why not just thru wire it. I think a big fish could also straighten the wire during a good fight and pull that hook idea apart.:uhuh:
Are you planning to attach a hook or swivel at that juncture also?:uhuh: |
I would much rather KNOW it would hold then take a chance losing a fish,,,

the plug is for freshwater. a swivel & treble will have a separate belly hole.i cannot thru wire because the joint cut is a shallow v. the wire connection in a spinnerbait to my knowledge is a strong one, i have never heard of one pulling apart.thanks for the input
