What do you guys want to see for categories this year?


Best representation of a classic lure
Most Likely to catch a cow on its first cast
Best in show
Best functional
Wallhanger
Creativity/ Artistic - Ouside the box, but how do you through-wire a bunker?
Best restore of a classic plug, must provide before and after photos
"Gotta start somewhere" - Best first year builder


What do you guys want to see? I'll make up the ballots etc.

Its also been suggested that each person receive a ballot when the walk in the door/pay. Having the blank ballots in a pile by the lures folks were voting for like 2 or 3 lures at a time on some ballots. Filling out multiple ballots.

Maybe this way, everyone gets in all their votes at one shot.

What do you guys think about maybe a write in area for builder of the year? You know someone you feel has really contributed to the forum etc? Its just a suggestion I figured I'd throw it out there. :)

I think all of them are great categories.

How about the WTF is THAT supposed to be award? We could re-name it the Dad 818 award. :D

I am having trouble deciding which plug to enter and the categories are so wide that 1 plug can't meet em all. Can we enter more than 1 ??

I think it's been done before. I was planning on entering two myself. I don' t see why someone can't win multiple categories. It's done in the Olympics and this is the Olympics of plug building!

Course, I will bow to the officials as it makes more work for them and it wouldn't be fair if they had to work all day at it and not get to enjoy the day like the rest of us bums.

Last year we did two.. I sure hope so, as I built two, I'd hate to have ti decide..

I'll come and judge them, I'll bring an empty bag and I will gladly accept bribes : )

multiple entries are cool with me, lets just not get out of control and submit 1 for each category. :jump:

I think a limit of two plugs keeps it sane...JMHO

2 is cool with me? I'll second that motion passed LOL and if anyone made 4 or whatever already we'll grandfather them in for this one LOL :laughs:

The pictures would be nice for the far away members that can't make it. Especially the Best first year builder for the newbie's like me. Hope to make one some day

Being new to the whole plug building addiction, would it make sense to create a category for airbrushed vs. cans? not sure if this makes sense but I see the work that you guys are doing with airbrushes and it blows my mind. Not exactly certain the ratio of airbrushers/can guys or if it would warrant a category.:huh:

How about "Biggest piece of Junk" ... might score my 1st win ..

This is what we have for categories. If everyone is cool with the options etc. I'll work on getting ballot forms created tonight. Say cut this off around 7pm so everyone can take a look?

I know I could dig up more than one that might fit that category...
