What one would you guys pick

The Iceman 6 02-15-2008 10:06 AM

I would go with #2.

Without hesitation, #1, You can fit wayyyyyyyy more gear in the truck, with the same amount of room in the cab.
easier to mount a surf rack on the front as well, just dump the useless brush guard off the front

See I agree with both of you the truck I could toss my bike in the bed with the tail gate down and still pull the pop-up or hopefully a boat

but with the SUV I get easier access with kids and there gear and for late night shore fishing I can always camp out in the back.....

See why this is such a tough chioce

#2 My Dad had #1,,,The bed is so small it's pretty much useless, you fit more in the SUV with the back seats down. Good luck.

"but with the SUV I get easier access with kids." I think you answered your own question.

yea I guess going practical wins out over what is fun

The Iceman 6 02-15-2008 03:03 PM

Did you make a decision yet? I would go with the Escape.

HESH2 02-27-2008 09:43 AM

have #2 it has room for gear and can fit my 8'2'' rod in with 1 back seat folded down.has v6 so alot of power-gas winter 16-17 mph-summer 18-20mpg more hyway fishing driving.

whats the gross vehicle weight

of each?

as that's what your gallon of gas
is pushing down the road
when she's bare bones empty...

trucks of any design catch wind
in the tailgate section and many people
have to remove a tailgate to thwart that.

#2 (is my choice)

you can also sit under the hatch back when raised
to get out of the rain when messing with fishing gear
