All of a sudden my camera dock is working again:huh:Here are two photos you can use if you attempt the Conrads. You can see how they want to sit. The white is the JR. with 2 belly hooks, 3/0 I think, and a single dressed tail hook. The Herring Blue Sr. is hookless in the photo. Thanks to George and Fred for lending the originals. Hope it helps some. Put it in your archives. Yes they are in a skillet.

Conrad's??? We used to fish plugs like that in the late 50's and 60's. They were not made out of wood, they were a variety of colored plastic and made by Atom. They were called REVERSE and whatever the color. I have a Reverse amber someplace, maybe even an olive also. Got to dig it out. I may be wrong, but those Conrad's sure do remind me of the "reverse" plugs. Basically they were an atom 40 with no lip and simply pulled backwards through the water. Caught a lot of bass out of Rockport with those. Probably the original squid imitation.

Sorry Eric but that is not one of mine. Nice plug though.

Dr. Fish like said above 2 totally different plugs. These are Jr and Sr

Striperknight 02-19-2008 08:16 PM

I know you did not make that plug...its a Gibbs. When you ground down that lip you sort of made a lip like the one on the gibbs.

ProfessorM 02-20-2008 10:45 AM

I do have one of those Gibbs plugs. Thought it looked familiar. Yes same style lip, almost. Has a complete round radius front edge, but the face is much longer on the Conrads. Longer than any lips I have seen. Good catch though. BTW I really like those little Gibbs swimmers.

Dr.fish 02-20-2008 11:56 AM

aaahhh...now that I see the Xrays I can see the lip. In the water photo I can't see the lips or the tail hooks...they really looked like reverse plugs to me, thus could not figure the "conrad" name.
JFigliuolo...please excuse my ignorance and less than 20/20 vision!:eyes:

Doc you know what it says on that viagra vile that if its affects your vision you should stop taking it.:laugha:

Rockfish9 02-20-2008 12:44 PM

Nice pics Paul, they kind of look like those gators in Florida, lurking partialy submerged on the surface...
