Got Stripers Now Famous Ledgerunners
GS' Ledgerunner Baits received some notoriety in Molly Benjamin's Weekly Fishing report today:
"Cape Cod Canal and Buzzards Bay 1) Mike Thomas talks of a guy who caught 30 quality (keeper) bass in one tide a few days ago. That's sweet. Chunkbaits, which are pretty much standard fare here, are not producing nearly as much as jigs. Try a 9-inch black SlugGo or 9- to 13-inch ledge runners with 2- to 5-ounce jigheads. Water temps here are around five degrees higher than normal. Saturday's canal tide is east-running around 8:30 a.m. Not much going on in Buzzards. Tons and tons of bait but few gamefish. There are a whale of a lot of tautog and snapper blues, which haven't yet worked their way around to Nantucket Sound, a curiosity." |

black sluggos don't work...all lies i tell ya... |
They sure do like the smoke split-tails. Every drift was WHAM, fish on. C-Ratt was right mext to me using paddletailstyle shads, and nothing. He switched to the split tail and BANG.

Awww crap, we'll never hear the end of the "Ledgerunner Split Tail" legend now ;) :D
(see, I told ya they worked :p ) |
Hehe, I told you them split tails work, sometimes it's unreal. The other good thing about them, is that they hold up well on the jig. The 5-1/2 mimic the smaller bunker well and the 7 inch are just too tempting for the bigger fish.

I caught fish the same size as that 7" on the 7". It was funny.

GS.....u going to set up shop at the ditch?coffee-candy-bandaids-popcorn -jigs -SPLITTAILS?

Tried that one day after the SOL cape cookout and the canal police want-ta-bees kicked me out. Set up across from the Sagamore parking lot where someone well know and now fishing for large every day once did, guess it pays to know the locals.
