Plug restoration question

Would I be better changing the plugs that have screw eyes to through wire?

Getting the old ones out is tough, they usually break off, then it's a real pain. I'd only change if you have to. Anybody ever try torching them (or heating with a solder iron) first?

I've been able to get most of them out without them breaking. Now its just making that decision on sticking with screw eyes or changing to through wire.

Just remember that if you go the through-wire route you will need to seal the hole that you driled in it
