When will you catch your first keeper of 2008?
 

Holdovers don't count. I'm guessing I'll have mine by April 25th.

I heard today that a 50 was caught in Narragnsett last weekend, with sea lice, so we know its fresh.

I'm still trying one of these years i'll get one.

I'm hoping for May 8th.

I may have to move spots, I only got 3 keepers all last season and the 1st one was not until July, but I did'nt fish any of the fall run. But I'm gonna chunk with a vengeance come April 1

As soon as one eats my plug.

Last year sucked. but I had my first 3rd week of May

probably may 26, its usually earlier but favorable tides are on the late side this year for me.

I swear this is like the 30th year someone has caught a"50" n Narragansett in March.
The older I get the more amazed I am. I bet it's the same stupid fish they keep catching and releasing.:smash:

im figuring on the 2nd week in may, maybe the first if the gods are smiling.

I really hope to have caught a keeper by the middle of may.

caught my first EVER keeper last april 30th in the bay.. a whopping 36 inchs on a chub creek....... with an ultralite us reell and an ugly stick.... that little thing cranks you just have to keep it clean and maintained...
