New Abu Reel
 

Found on Ebay UK there is a new Abu 7000 C3 CT reel in red that seems to be the crave over there right now. Anyone heard anything about this reel? Is this reel made in Sweden and supposed to take the place of the old black cadillac? Would love to know if anyone else has heard anything about this reel coming back. I think the spool size would still be the same as the 7500CT series but I have no idea what Abu is up to these days..... Provided a pic (cited from ebay of course :tooth:)

Given the fact that it's based on the 7000i series, it's most likely not made in Sweden. I notice that it also has a knobby mag conversion as well. That upgrade may or may not be factory produced. Don't know any more than a guess.
After a little quick research, it looks as though the knobby mag is factory.

How much is it going for? That mag addition is interesting. It may be too big a reel t benefit from the mag control?

i recognized it was made in taiwan but beleive me it has all the abu garcia quality the thing is a tank. i paid about $135 for it
