1st trip of the season

took a couple of friends out to the bank today. we put in in hull and froze for an hour on the ride out. the fleet was already on them so we joined in. action was pretty much nonstop till the tide died. with a ratio of 5 shorts to one keeper. after it got moving again there was a steady pick of shorts with a few keepers. we ended up w/ 28 cod, no haddock, and 2 sea herring. there were alot of 23" fish, so thats encouraging. the bait was thick on the ff, all the fish were puking sand eels. there were a few whales, but not many. all in all a great first trip.

Nice report!
We went out of Plymouth sunday and did pretty much the same.

Niko,

Nice work.

How was the ride out today. I Was out Sun and Mon with Charters on Relentless. Very snooty Mon am but glass coming in. Fishing report was exact same as you. Have to go a bit deeper than where you were for the Haddock.

great report Niko, were using jigs primarily or bait?

Hit the bank as well yesterday, FAC..... ran up to 35 knots. Did well with haddock, few keeper cod and a bunch of short cod

New ff worked awesome and played with my new radar as well

jeff, that's funny. i looked at a boat yesterday and said to myself "that looks like jeff's boat". kippy, all jigs. 7 oz crippled herring for me. the 2 guys i was with are canal rats. they were using 5 oz jig heads w/ sluggos - go figure. we were using little ronz as teasers w/ excelent results.

Nice job. it won't be long now.
best haddock I've found to be east of the bank about 160'+
