ISO Salisbury Beach/Merrimack Reports
Hey all,
Wendy and I are taking the Buggy (truck-camper) up to the MBBA Salisbury Beach Clean-up this weekend. The State supports this event by letting us stay in the campground starting Friday afternoon. I am thinking since the spit at the end of the campground is the actual mouth of the Merrimack, maybe, just maybe we might have a shot at and early Striper or a Shad. What do you North Shore Guys think...come on...give up the info.....or PM me. Thanks PS...I know, I know, I live in Hyannis and the Cape is going to have great conditions for an early season blitz this weekend and I am going 150 miles North...The things we do for conservation....ugh!!!!! |
Haven't heard of or seen any shad or stripers up that far yet, but it never hurts to bring some gear and give it a shot.

I threw some cocahoes and the honey fished a curly tail grub lat the end of the state park bey the jetties with no luck. some friends saw sandeels in teh river earlier in the day and I watched a decend sized group of Gulls working a school of something (I thought Herring) a little up river.

grab some clams or worms. cod fishing is pretty good off those beaches this time of the year.
