How much you spending on GAS per wk. ?
$70.00 here ,, my car ,, not counting wifes.... back and forth to work and very little running around . Once fishing starts and prices continue to rise I see myself fishing more local on the way home from work . Any trips to the canal/cape I'll be car camping rather than driving back and forth . I really don't want to cut back on fishing . May be cheaper to move .

I spend $30.00 a week on Diesel. I travel about 24 miles total to work. but i drive a 1983 Toyota Land Cruiser with a 5 speed, 3B diesel that gets 35 mpg!
I row a 13' lapstake Peapod designed by Doug Hylan, and built by yours truly, the building of it took over 500 hours, but I can row it anywhere I want, and do.I average a minimum of 2 miles per day, as I live on my boat 6 months a year, and i am one nauitcal mile exactly to the marina dock, and I row it in under 20 minutes when in a rush. But always fish to an from an in between whenever I feel like it, which is ALOT of the Time. Last Fall , I took my son to Prudence Island, we anchored the mother ship, and proceede to fish in the Peapod, for 10 hours each day, we caught almost 800lbs of bluefish in that time, and then proceeded to catch 22 stripers immediately followingthat in less than 1 hour.Yea I lie to fish, and so does my son , who is now 17! |
I spend around $100.00 a week between me and the wife.
:ss: |
It was costing me 130.00 a week plus tolls to drive into Boston from the Cape.
I got layed off yesterday I won't miss the commute. |
$60-80 for me and about $40 for wife
|
Have 3 drivers in the house. Better half does most of the miles, son drives to seminary, school, home. 16 and doesn't like to drive. I work at home. I do church, scouts and date night once a week and one camp out anywhere out of town a month. $241 monthly average first quarter. As the heat goes up the we go farther up the mountains to camp. Cosco gas $3.23 a gal.

lately...
try ZERO $0.
the wife is spending around 100 buckaroonies i've been using the same half tank i had in march... no where to go when you have no brakes... i'm gonna get some big ole timbers and back the caravan up on them so i can crawl under that sumana beeswax and yank this friggan brake valve off of it and then take it to a mad scientists LABRATORY he has one of those huge military trucks in there that is saved for the end of days MISSION impossible everywhere you look there's a friggan chicken sitting on machinery thats worth thousands... reminds me of the midwest back country farmers lol -------------------------------------------------------------------- went out there to re build a motor once,,, and here is this Machinst with a half million worth of equipment in his huge old shop every where you looked was a container almost full of water...big ones and mediums ones down to several sizes of small ones...all sitting within white painted circles on the floor... i'm like WTF ? his roof leaks ok and his solution is to catch the all the drips and he times the drops...with a stop watch calculates the rate (he had this down to a science) of the dripping and determines what size receptacle he needs to keep things dry... he says to me: my JOB is to grind your crank shaft your job is to empty all these containers and put them back exactly where you found them ONE at a time then he buys me a new crankshaft instead of grinding it lol and he says to me... and i'll never forget this line... as he carefully hands me my old crankshaft... spray paint it green before you through it away (smiling like the cheshire cat....) That way..........no one will find it... :rotflmao: |
BIGCAT
truly sorry to hear about you
being LAID off... dude.. i hope something bigger and better comes your direction.. |
350-400  I work in construction and drive to all the sites we have work going on, average about 215 miles a day.......
|
about 60 a week right now. it will go up to probably 100 when fishing starts.
|
80- 100 a week. expect big jump when fish are around.
|
$50-$60 just for work.
With fishing...I don't even want to think about it.I will be doing a lot of fishing in places that are between home and work. |
With a 34 gallon tank, it usually takes 2 swipes of the credit card to fill up :rollem: pump stops at $75, that should change to 100 I guess.
If I do work out installing or whatever not in the shop, I go through more than a tank a week, so about 125-140 atleast with the price of about 3 bucks a gallon, if it goes to 4, I would be around 200  I don't like it but what can we do.:wall: the wife might use 100 or so, she drives a lot too but has a Honda |
What a mess.A few people making billions and the whole country screwed up.
|
120 for the 2 vehicles. I try to keep the speed down it helps a bit. But I just hate walking in the slow lane.
|
I use a tank a week. Right now it's running between $55 and $60 for a fill-up for the Jeep. I usually fill it when I'm between 1/4 tank and empty. Takes about 17 gallons and I have a 21 gallon tank.
Fishing won't be too bad since I'm two miles from the Canal. I probably use more gas starting the car 4-5 times a night bouncing around, than I do driving to one place. So I'll use the bike more and more this season. The exercise will do me good while I'm at it. |
I've been driving a lot for work so I'm burning a lot of gas, although I do get to expense the miles.
-spence |
They changed it here in CT for the pumps to shut off at 100, well at Mobils anyway.
|
15 a week going back and forth to work in my '71 super beetle...
I am now only driving my gas s#^^^^^&g tacoma when i need to... the beetle is so cheap to drive its silly, oh and its a blast to drive as well... Once fishing season starts up I will drive the truck more.. :( |

I do 100+ miles a day 6 days a week commuting to my job.I have a 1998 dodge pickup 5.9 liter (gas hog) that i only use for fishing now as i cannot afford to feed it for work.I use a 2006 honda civic gets about 40-42 mpg hwy in summer 36-38 mpg in winter so its not too bad but the way the price is going up on gas who knows if i won't be carpooling soon.
|
Round trip to the Cape on weekends is 280miles and work is 2 miles even from the house. I'm spending 60-65 bucks a week now, but expect 100 per week once I get the sand stickah.
|
just came from the gas station
and the guy see's me putting in my stuff....while getting fuel
anyway's we get to talkin and then the subject switches over to home heating oil...and then outdoor furnaces... and how you can burn anything in them......... so then he tells me that all his friends have them because he lives way out in the boonies and there's no one around ...totally isolated and all that ...of course this is in Connecticut back country...ok he then tells me his friends are burning friggan tires in them along with the wood.... man oh man does that totally piss.....me...........off  talk about terrorists in America that is certainly a bio terrorist act against the environment |
I'm sure there's plenty of PT in there as well.
And they probably wonder why everyone in the neighborhood has cancer :hs: -spence |
Less for me starting next week.
The 4 cyl , 5 speed stick 2 wheel drive Ford Ranger I just picked up, should do 30 + mpg. on the high way back & forth down rt 95 to my boat !!! Much better than my f350 superduty !!! |
need to find something better myself, this $80 a week is too much, no money for running a boat this summer
|
ABout $30 a week for now . Starting in may its gonna be a lot less though ! My commute will only be 9 miles roundtrip to the new job :jump::buds:!!
|
Around $40/week just to drive back and forth to my kids house, and that's with a car that gets 30 mpg.
The truck is sitting in the garage. Used to run me $14 for RT fishing, last year it was $40. Don't want to know what it would cost now, but there will be alot less fishing this year. :( |
about 35-40 a week just work and back in my 04 F150 2wd 4.6l v8.When fishing picks up it will be closer to 80 a week.Make sure you guys are keeping the right air pressure in them tires .Tires can kill fuel mileage fast.
