No Fish in Maine

I fished about 2 hours north of portland this weekend. Nuthin. But i did have a fantastic time trying. And we did dig some clams and pick some mussles...dipped in butter right off the grill. So good. Thanks again for the advice. I'll get em next time.

any striped bass there end of May around south Portland? Got a visit planned, not sure if I should bring a rod. PM if you don't want to post.

I've caught stripers at the end of May in Wells and Kittery area. Not sure if that was and unusual year, but fishing was good.

I don't concern myself too much with the first bass until the last snow melts, this year that may not be until July.

Maine has excellent fishing south of Wells/Kennebunk. I have not tried North of Wells and with the cost of gas....
Maine has excellent laws pertaining to the taking of bass too. I wish NH had the same law for taking.

Yes, you start catching stripers up here in Maine around the middle of May. The rivers and marshes produce very well that time of year.
