thru wire diameter question

I turned a bunch of little 4" danny plugs and am getting ready to thru wire them. I keep looking at the standard guage pre-cut stuff I have and keep thinking that it looks too heavy and wonder if it will affect the performance of the plug . Does anyone have any experience or thoughts? Or am I stewing over nothing....

I made some little ones and used the .062 wire. no problems. The best action came from a couple that had no belly weight except the hook.
If you really want some thinner wire, check out mcmaster carr or visit a welding supply shop. The welding shops usually have a pretty good variety of ss wire in differnt gauges (try .051 or .041). Mostly it comes in 36" lengths. though you can some times find it in a roll.

Use the .062. If the plug was 6" long it would not concern you. What does 2" of wire weigh?

m&d's carries thinner 308ss wire
