a killer night on long island
so i went out at low tide on saturday night to fish the whole incoming and and part of the outgoing. As soonthe first swim shad hit the water it was on. there were blues all over the place. the fianl count was 54 blues and one striperr that broke 30 pound fireline right at the shore. This looks like it will be a promising season!!!

bluefish?
bluefish!!? i'll give ya $.30 a pound.

Wow! Sounds like a fantastic trip. I love catching blues, great fighters, and that striper is a good omen for things to come. I hear in Scotland they pour wine into the mouth of the first salmon and release it..."long line" releasing your first striper will be good luck.

There were snapper blues in an upper Buzz Bay harbor this past weekend too. Chasing some tiny bait fish and tearing my rubber shads apart.
