boat rod/reel

I am looking for a moderately priced, versatile, rod for use on my buddys boat. We will mainly be targeting stripers, but would like something that could work for flounder or cod as well.
What do you guys think? Who has the best selection in the eastern mass area. Local shops, not #^&#^&#^&#^&s, ect.
Thanks.
