Went to the local plumbing supply warehouse to get what I thought I needed which is basically to waxy/teflon looking washers that go on the valve stem of my outside spigot shutoff and one the spigot valve stem itself.

The guy tells me that these are specific to the manufacturer and there'll all different and I would have to replace the entire inside shutoff valve and intall a whole new spigot,about $80 worth of parts.So I walk out thinking to myself that has to be BS,how could that be?

On a whim I hit the local Ace and buy two of these washers for grand total of......20 cents!And both leaks fixed.

So part grump,part happy ending.

You mean that little black washer that fits in the bottom of the spigot. $.20 is cool.
