BRAND NEW
to plug building that is...
I have enjoyed reading a lot of the posts on this website. Can somebody please tell me a good source for materials on plug building. Treble hooks are easy enough to find, but screws or attachments can sometimes be hard to find in the right sizes. I was thinking of beginning with a cypress knee. I don't currently own a lathe. Hopefully it won't be too hard to carve out one and sand it down with some paper. What type of paint do I need to look for? Do I coat with polyurethane before painting and then again afterwards? Appreciate any advice or tips... |
There are some amazing buiders on this site.....do a search and you will find a ton of info on building....check the sponsers on this site to find materials....they have it all! Best of luck and welcome aboard.

NJ Tackle is the best place for supplies. Best selection, best prices.
As for your other questions....like the guys said, there's a lot of good information on this site from people that really know what they are doing. Just do some searches on painting and sealing etc. Good luck. Hope your old lady is understanding. |

Not married yet..... Thank the Lord I carved out one plug over the weekend, I will seal and paint later this week and post up the pics. I can already see I need to pick up a dremel tool as well as a few other things. Only thing I had over the weekend was a Case knife and a piece of sandpaper |
