East tide, breaking deer

Figured the fishing was over this morning but on my bike ride back to the truck on the canal I saw birds working around 8 am, so I went over to investigate and saw them following a deer swimming across the canal in a strong current. Got out and went up rocks 20 feet from me. It was exhausted. Seen many deer over the years on the canal but never seen one swim the ditch in broad daylight. Glad I went over cause next cast I got a 40" fish which was the only one I could muster today.

I have seen the exact same thing before minus the catch a few years ago, I saw birds checking something in the current coming towards me, when it got closer I thought dog, closer still, holy bleep, deer, it finally made it to the rocks, shook off a bit and off to the woods

Congrats on the fish ! I've yet to see a deer swim.Wonder what would happen if a school of hungry bloos found the deer.

I saw you too but you were busy and I was late. Nice catch

Deer don't have stripes Paul,
glad to hear you finally connected with a bass, I guess it was the mojo from helping that young man land his best fish. Lots of big bass came to shore yesterday, about time I actually got it on it. :kewl:
did you release it?
Blind casting worked well , I bet they are still catching right now. Lots of those fish will be you know where soon :D:D:jump:

At least where I was, fishing was a lot slower this morning compared to yesterday.

That deer is tame, I was watching him through my glasses the other day.
The deer was standing on the service road, A guy I know tried to pet it :)
