Rigged from a boat ?

Before I make another trip out, how are you guys rigging up your plugs, casting from a boat ?

Main line to leader ? Using a swivel ? What lb. leader ? Length ? Leader to plug? Snap swivel?

tie direct.

If i wanna be fancy I'll tie 3 feet of flouro with a blood knot then homer rhode loop knot to the plug no swivel.

quick and easy just double up the main line 3 feet with a surgens knot, then clinch knot the double line to the plug.
there's no reason for a swivel, other then something for the snapper blues to take a bite at.

i use a swivel on spinning setups. 3' leader sometimes snaps, sometimes direct tie. all w/ palomars

Just seems easier to use a snap especially with multible plug switching.
The snap swivels I use is black. Keeps the reflection down. But I'm sure it might make the plug respond differently with the added weight ?

use a good snap. pinch it down. i've seen what a striper can do to a snap in the rocks

No hardware, all direct ties: line to leader, leader to plug. Knots and leader test depends on conditions.
