non-levelwind reel w/braid

thinking of buying a Tica 205 Caiman (non-levelwind) filling w/30# braid for Fluke fishing. Any thoughts ?

I'm not a fan of Tica reels. I also think you should go with a heavier braid. Even if you're not casting, much of this applies.

I boat fish for fluke, bass, blues, whatever with a avet and braid and a Shimano trevala rod. Its non-levelwind and it doesn't bother me at all. I use 65 lb suffix braid.

i use power pro on all my gear and i use a level wind because i often fish alone and between driving the boat , looking at the fishfinder and keeping an eye on everything else ( pots ,bouys , rocks ,other boats , crap in the water ect.) i don't have time to look at my reel to see if the string is tracking level . level wind works for me .

That's why God gave you a thumb.

No problem.
