Saw something strange last night.
 

I guess it isnt really strange but the bass were chasing 6-8" scup up on the beach in soco. Ive seen peanuts, sandeels and pogies, but never scup. There was about a dozen of em. I flipped em back in the water and kept fishin. The bass werent huge 26-35 inches. Anyone else see scup chased up on the beach before?

I've seen bass chase them in shallow water around the Ditch. I've also found baby ones in the stomach of bass that I've gutted. Never seen them beached, though.

I haven't seen scup chased on the beach, but I have gone to one of my spots and found fresh scup on the beach which I suspect were chased onto it, because no one fishes for scup in NJ off the beach in that area.
